Unfortunately traditional clothing is disappearing because the younger generations from the INDIGENOUS communities would rather copy what Westerners are wearing and showing less interest in their traditional clothes.

THE MISSION

My goal is to preserve the traditional designs and skills of indigenous artisans from around the world, thus empowering economically disadvantaged regions, while bringing awareness and education to western women on the importance and beauty of traditional clothing. Lolalovecargo will be used as a platform to connect and empower all women as well as contributing to a fair and sustainable world for people and the environment.

ORIGIN OF FIRST DESIGN AND COLLABORATION

My first design stems from the embroidery technique of West Africa. I collaborated with Baba, a New York based tailor from Senegal, whose father passed down these unique embroidery technique, which we merged with modern cargo pant.
